The 6 to 12 Year-Old Athlete
  Just as the young athlete’s growth is gradual, the need for strength and power is also a gradual progression regardless of the sport. Young athletes in this age group have a limited attention span. As a result, activities are often performed in short bursts of low to moderate intensity. A lack of endurance at this time is less of an issue. Focusing on the fundamentals of training and exercise with the specific sport are the most important lessons.
