St.
Finn Barr Parish Athletics’ administrator,
sports committee, and coaches believe that athletes
who choose to participate in the sports program
are given a privilege of membership on teams and
should conduct themselves as responsible representatives
of the parish. In order to assure this conduct,
the sports committee and coaches enforce a Code
of Conduct in addition to the expectations outlined
for all Athletes in the Sports Handbook.
Furthermore,
members of teams who fail to abide by the Code of
Conduct are subject to disciplinary actions. Members
of teams and organizations must always serve as
models of high moral character and must demonstrate
appropriate sport commitment, which is expected
from all athletes. As recognized representatives
of the sports program, members are expected to exhibit
appropriate behavior during the season (activity)
or out of season; in the uniforms, on gym premises
off gym premises.

Dear
Parents or Guardians,
Download
flyer
Please read the attached flyer regarding the upcoming
sports candy sale. The candy sale is scheduled to
begin on Wednesday, February 29th. This will be
the final mandatory fund raiser for the sports program.
It is mandatory for all athletes who have participated
in sports for school year 2011-2012. If your child
did not play sports it is not mandated for your
family to sell. However, I would like to ask you
to help us by taking a case or two. World's Finest
will be sending out the prize notice next week.
This
notice is for all families who would like to sell
Mint Meltaways or Caramel Swirls, instead of the
variety pack. This will be your only chance to pre-order
these cases. It will also be your only opportunity
to opt to buy-out instead of selling. All buy-outs
are due no later than Monday, February 27th. Please
see notice for more information.
For
those families who have played sports outside of
the sports program, you know organizations have
raised their fees. SFB Athletics has not raised
their fees in many years, and we would like to keep
it that way. The City & County of San Francisco
is charging up to $80 per sport to play, and they
have all the resources we do not have (gyms, equipment,
fields). With the extra $15 we charge we have to
pay for gym rentals, equipment for teams, and fingerprinting
for coaches. The success of this candy sale will
determine if we will be able to keep our fees at
the same rate going forward. I ask for everybody's
help and participation in this fund raiser, to give
us the opportunity to continue offering sports to
all our children. You can contact me with any questions
or concerns by emailing me at sfbsports@yahoo.com.
